It was... very underwhelming in my opinion. We didn't have to wait for a seat. Still we had to wait over 30 minutes for our food to arrive. Mind you in was just me and my mother on a Tuesday morning. She got hash skillet and I got the chilequiles. We didnt get offered a refill on our drinks until we were both done eating. Beans were Hella bland, zero flavor. Got both of our eggs cooked wrong but we didn't send back out of fear of waiting another half hour.. so I wouldn't recommend and definitely won't be back. Didn't bother to take a Pic wasjust grateful to receive my food until I tasted it. Bummer! This big boy didn't finish his food, and it wasn't for lack of appetite or fullness.

Their warm and welcoming greetings was prompt. The food was delivered hot and all imgrediates fresh and flavorful. I had the grand breakfast with rosemary potatoes, and the fluffiest pancakes in town!!! The coffee is delicious and the perfect balance of flavor and strength. My eyes were bigger than my stomach so im taking the leftovers home to enjoy later. ❤️

Tamales and beer what else do you want, in the heart of down town Oxnard where it gets its name and Juan is a great host for karaoke Saturdays!! Definitely going back 😊

Food was good! The only downside is that almost everything we ordered came out cold and that was a huge downside. Secondly their soda machine did not have enough carbonation and could coffee was cold too. Probably best to visit on a weekday when it’s not too busy? Service was great awesome waitstaff but yeah downside was definitely food temps and we never got offered any refills and once our food came out the waitstaff didn’t really check on us until it was time to get the bill.

The Downtown Cafe was a great experience the server I had was excellent. The food came out hot and prepared to be eaten. Every table has all the condiments that you will need for your meal which I find very convenient. Only reason I gave the food 4 stars is simply because I wish restaurants would go away from these chicken tenders and actually give whole wings with the waffle. Completely different taste as well as texture would take that meal in a new direction.
